This is an application to purchase a Greater Victoria Eldercare Foundation Lottery ticket. Please read carefully before completing application.
A maximum of 200 tickets will be sold during each bi-weekly draw period. The draw prizes will be equivalent to 50 per cent of the gross proceeds based on the number of players. Prizes will be drawn bi-weekly on the day before payday. 2023/2024 Draw dates are as follows: 2023: Apr. 6, 20 | May 4, 18 | June 1, 15, 29 | July 13, 27 | Aug. 10, 24 | Sept. 7, 21 | Oct. 5, 19 | Nov. 2, 16, 30 | Dec. 14, 28 & 2024: Jan. 11, 25 | Feb. 8, 22 | March 7, 21.
The lottery is open to all Island Health staff. Regular full and part-time staff may participate by signing up for a bi-weekly payroll deduction of $5 per ticket. Participants are limited to a maximum of 3 tickets per bi-weekly draw period.
An employee who is taking leave or terminating employment must inform the Foundation before the leave commences. This must be done to cancel your assigned ticket number to free that placement for those waiting to enter the ticket raffle.
Tickets are non-transferable. The lottery is administered under the guidelines of the BC Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch. The lottery will be audited during the Foundation’s annual audit. Foundation employees and Board Members are not eligible to participate in the lottery. According to Revenue Canada regulations, prize monies are not taxable and ticket purchases are not eligible for an income tax receipt.
Draws will be held at the Aberdeen Hospital. Winners will be announced at the time of the draw, the winner will be telephoned or emailed(if not present) and the winner’s name will be posted on hospital bulletin boards at the Aberdeen, Glengarry, Summit and Priory Hospitals.
Ticket purchasers must be 19 years of age or older. If a winning ticket bears a minor’s name, the prize will be lawfully delivered on behalf of the minor to the minor’s parent, legal guardian or trustee.
Proceeds from the lottery will be used to support resident care through the purchase of equipment.
